CNN IBN has done a program on Orkut, seeing its popularity in news about crime and criminals and how it is promoting voilence and crime in India, kidnapping, muder, sex and such nonsense violence being conducted via help of Orkut. The program is names RULES OF ORKUT AGE.

Orkut’s representative:Shailesh Rao, Managing Director, Sales and Operations, for Google India, has defended saying that Orkut is just a messenger, dont shoot it for passing along the message. I think, he doesnt know that Orkut is the culprit here, if orkut was not to exist, people would still go by their business and live happily everafter, but with Orkut’s presence, people are getting a way to conduct their crime, which did not exist before. Predators are looking for their next prey behind the walls of Orkut and innocent young Indians are being targetted.

The way I see it, ORKUT has spoiled India, and has deteriorated the Indian mentality. Most of profiles on Orkut are for seeking sex and rave parties. Boys and Girls looking to hookup for short term sex and one night stands. I personally do not like Orkut, never liked it before either. Its using the innocence of young Indians and frauds and shrudes are exploiting this innocence. There is no way to control it, I think indian ISPs should ban Orkut in India.

Anyways, thats my opinion, debate which still continues, part of it is below.
